Unaccompanied Minor Service
Most airlines offer an "Unaccompanied Minor" service that allows for teens not traveling with an adult to be accompanied by airline personnel for an additional fee. The ages for which this service is available and the fees charged vary by airline, but are generally in the range of $100-$200 per individual. This can be arranged either through one of the travel agents listed above or by contacting the airline directly.
PURCHASE TRAVEL INSURANCE:
For your safety and coverage, we require that you purchase comprehensive travel insurance that covers you for the duration of the trip.
YOUR INSURANCE MUST COVER:
- Trip delay, interruption, or cancellation
- Baggage Loss or Delay
- Medical Expense up to $50,000+
- Hospitalization
- Emergency Evacuation
- Basic Sports and Adventure Activities.
Note: Booking travel on credit cards can offer some travel protection, but it is insufficient for our purposes. You must purchase additional travel insurance to be eligible to participate in the program.
SEVERAL INSURANCE COMPANIES TO CONSIDER:
Travel Guard - Has many options, depending on where you live. We recommend including "Cancel for Any Reason" coverage to ensure that you are covered in case of trip cancellation, interruption, or any events on the ground that would prevent us from running a program. Many plans include coverage for emergency medical evacuation.
Travel Insured - Has great plans for different levels of coverage. Also has a "Cancel for Any Reason" option that will reimburse you for up to 75% of your program cost if you need to cancel up to 48 hours before departure. Many plans include coverage for emergency medical evacuation.
